What Is Bubbles: Bubbles is an application platform, based on Browser technologies. It detaches Web Applications from the classic Browser and offers them with the familiar accessibility, capabilities and always-on nature of Desktop applications.
Mission statement: We want to replace classic Desktop Applications with Web Applications that are better integrated into the Desktop environment. See our Philosophy.
Why: Applications [this way] are easier to develop and maintain, easier to deliver, easier to consume, transportable and just awesome. Face it, this is the future!
Company history: Bubbles started as an experiment in integrating web-applications into the desktop environment back in late 2005 by Ohad Eder Pressman. It has slowly evolved from side project to something bigger as the global perception of web and desktop applications evolved. In 2008, after running Bubbles as a per-project from his consulting company (3D3R Software Studio), Bubble Labs was incorporated by Ohad and two co-founders: Shahaf Shakuf and Vadim Giliyadov. The latest addition to the team is Simon Hanukaev, software engineer specializing in Javascript.
Funding: Bubbles is self-funded and has chosen not to take any outside money at this time.
